Changes to VAT on food

As of April 1, 2026, VAT on food in Sweden will be reduced from 12% to 6%.

What does this mean for you as customers?

In order to ensure the correct handling of VAT, we will use the current regulations on the time of delivery, i.e. when you as customers have the goods at your disposal.

This means that:

  • 6% VAT applies to all supplies received by you on or after 1 April 2026
  • 12% VAT applies to supplies made until March 31, 2026.

What happens in practice?

We will update the VAT rate in our systems as part of the transition.

Any orders affected by the change will be adjusted by us before invoicing.

Orders placed in March – delivery in April

Orders placed in March but expected to be delivered to you in April will be adjusted to 6% VAT, regardless of the date the order was placed.

We do this to ensure that VAT is paid correctly according to the applicable rules.

Private customers

Our private customer items, whose prices include VAT, will be changed to include 6% VAT instead of the previous 12% as of 1 April 2026.
